LGLG: "Just Pray" Lyrics & Song Background

"Just Pray" is one of my favorite tracks off Let Go & Let God and also the first official single released off the album. The song speaks to the power of prayer and the importance of prayer in life as we experience the good times and the tough times. Some prayer is structured. Some is ad-hoc. There really is no formula for the perfect prayer. I wrote the song as a worship song as it builds going into the first chorus and ends strong, with resolution.  I am excited to be working with Mission House Music in the release of this single to Christian radio. Enjoy!

Just Pray Lyrics Written and Produced by Justin Honaman / John Carrozza Copyright 2010

V1 From the early breath of morning, Through the ups-and-downs each day, To the quiet of the evening, At the closing of the day, My comfort is in knowing, My Father is with me, I wear His cross with honor, For He gave His son for me,

V2 There's no perfect way to say it, No right and no wrong, No perfect way to phrase it, On a page, or in a song, My Father hears them all, Said and unplanned, That's what makes him strong and mighty, Lifts me up to take a stand,

Chorus 1 Just pray, To my Father above, Just pray, For everlasting love, Just pray, For Him to speak to my heart, Just pray, Today...

V2 There's no perfect way to say it, No right, no wrong, No perfect way to phrase it, On a page, or in a song, My Father hears them all, Said and unplanned, That's what makes him strong and mighty, Lifts me up to take a stand,

Chorus 2 Just pray, To my Father above, Just pray, For everlasting love, Just pray, For Him to speak to my heart, Just pray, Today...

Music Bridge His love is higher, His love is higher, His love is higher,

Bridge When the world is against me, And I lose my way, On His rock I'll stand with courage, At the turning of the day,

Chorus 3 Just pray, To my Father above, Just pray, For everlasting love, Just pray, For Him to speak to my heart, Just pray,

Just pray, King of kings, worthy of all praise, Just pray, Side by side all my days, Just pray, To His glory, I live out my life, Just pray,

Just pray...
